South Windsor Democrats File Appeal in Amadasun Case
Appeal Filed to Assure Voter Franchise Remains Intact

After exploring all legal options and because Judge Susan Cobb did not rule on the core merits of the case, an appeal was filed today in the voter disenfranchisement case of Amadasun vs. Armstrong, HHD-CV25-6214193-S.
“A constituent of mine, Harrison Amadasun, has been wronged by unelected bureaucrats who denied him his rightful place on the South Windsor Town Council, effectively disenfranchising thousands of South Windsor voters,” State Senator Saud Anwar, MD, said today. “As a former mayor of South Windsor and now a State Senator, I know firsthand how essential it is to respect the will of the voters and the integrity of local democracy,” Senator Anwar concluded.
“The appeal filed today must be granted so that all evidence is laid bare and every witness is heard,” said Attorney John Kennelly. “Only through a fair and transparent process can the public trust that justice has truly been done,” he added.

On November 4, 2025, South Windsor voters decisively elected six Democrats and three Republicans to the Town Council and approved charter revisions that were not intended to take effect until the next municipal election cycle.
The morning after the election, unelected South Windsor bureaucrats retroactively rewrote the rules, overturning thousands of votes and stealing Harrison Amadasun’s rightful seat, awarding it to Republican Rick Balboni, who had 1,000 fewer votes.
