South Windsor Girls Win Division Title at CCC Cross Country Championships

Michael Stoker places second overall in the boys race in Wednesday's meet at Wickham Park.

On an unseasonably warm late October afternoon, runners from South Windsor enjoyed a successful day navigating the hilly 3.1 mile course at Wickham Park in Manchester.

In the newly-aligned Central Connecticut Conference, the Bobcat girls team prevailed as North-Blue division champions at the CCC Cross Country Championships.

Kaitlin Bakas led the way for the Bobcats, finishing 11th overall. Isabelle Erikson (20th) also had a top 25 finish in the 174-girl field.

On the boys’ side, Michael Stoker turned in an outstanding performance, placing second in a time of 16:31, just six seconds behind Randy Neish of Glastonbury in the the pack of 207 runners.
