South Windsor Man Charged With Reckless Burning
A local man is facing charges that he started a fire then ended up being a large brush fire.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - A South Windsor man was charged with reckless burning in an April incident that resulted in a large brush fire. Andrew Mikkelson, 21, of 676 Clark Street, was charged with reckless burning and was later released on $1,000 non-surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on June 19.
Police said his charges stem from an April incident in which a large area of a field behind 676 Clark St. was burned.

Investigators found the remnants of fireworks and an accelerant container. Mikkelson admitted starting the fire and was unaware the windy conditions would create the large scale brush fire that resulted in numerous 911 calls and a fire department response, according to police.
