South Windsor Man Sentenced for Serious Knife Attack

He pleaded guilty to stabbing his girlfriend and his cousin, blinding the cousin in one eye.

HARTFORD, CT - A South Windsor man who pleaded guilty in March to stabbing his girlfriend and cousin last spring, blinding the cousin in one eye, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, the Hartford Courant reported.

William Brewster, 21, will also serve three years' probation following his release from prison.

He pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in the April 2015 stabbing of his girlfriend, Dianihtza Rivera-Soto, and his cousin, Frederick Hazard.

Hazard was stabbed in four places, including his face, and lost sight in his right eye as a result, the Courant said.
