Jean (Rose) Jamieson, 83, of Bolton, formerly of South Windsor, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at The Village at Buckland Court.
Beloved wife of Robert Jamieson, she was born July 10, 1933, daughter of the late William and Emma (Skarin) Rose. Jean was the second of four children, Glen, Jean, June (passed) and Jack Rose. Glen lost his life in the Korean War. The family put the other three children through four years of college with the money the government gave to Gold Star Mothers.
Jean graduated from ECSU in 1953 and became a teacher at Mayberry School in East Hartford. She earned her master’s degree in 1985 and taught for 36 years.

Jean taught Sunday School for Art Dunham at The First Congregational on Main Street, and was instrumental in The Raymond E. Larson Foundation. She was very active in ADK for many years. Bob says being ill with memory problems for 5 years cannot change what we had. She will be remembered for what she did, and who she was for people. For me, Jean will always be “The Lady with the Sunshine Smile.”
The family wishes to thank the wonderful people who cared so lovingly for her at The Village. We are so grateful.
