South Windsor Panthers B Team to Play in Title Game Sunday
Undefeated team will face rival Glastonbury at Rentschler Field in East Hartford at 11:30 a.m.

Get your popcorn ready.
The South Windsor Panther Maroon team is scheduled to square off against its Glastonbury counterparts in the championship game of the Connecticut Youth Football League ‘B’ level (11-12 year olds) at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on Sunday, Nov. 18
The game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and admission is free.
It figures to be a spirited affair, as South Windsor finished the regular season with a 7-0 record, including a thrilling 23-22 victory over Glastonbury in October. South Windsor, according to coach Steve Harz, is the only team to have scored on Glastonbury (8-1 including two playoff victories) in the regular season.
In the playoffs, South Windsor has been dominant, defeating Simsbury in the first round and Vernon in the second round by a combined score of 56-6.
Harz attributed the team’s success in no small part to head coach Dave Hodge, who “has been working with this group for 6 years.”
The football program, Harz said, has grown over the years and South Windsor now has two B teams (along with one A team, two C teams, and one Mighty Mite team).
“Most towns only have one team at a given level,” Harz said in an e-mail.
The second B team was extremely good this year, going 7-1, giving South Windsor two B squads that were ranked in the top four out of 17 teams.
