South Windsor Police Arrest East Hartford Man on Weapons Charge

An East Hartford man faces weapons charges after an early Sunday morning incident in South Windsor.
Justin McEacharn, 24, of Main Street in East Hartford, was arrested Sept. 28 on a charge of weapons in a vehicle.
A South Windsor Police officer stopped to check on a suspicious vehicle parked on John Fitch Blvd. at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, according to a police press release.

During the roadside interview the officer learned the operator had a butterfly knife and a pair of black metal “brass knuckles” in his car. Police said that both items were within reach of the operator and illegal.
McEacharn was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 9.
