South Windsor Police Arrest Woman on Drug Charges

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday night and say one of the occupants was in possession of drugs.

An East Hartford woman faces drug charges following an arrest on Wednesday night.

South Windsor Police officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on Marty Lane at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Officers later located the vehicle nearby and interviewed the occupants. Officers determined that one of the occupants was in possession of narcotics, according to Deputy Chief Scott Custer.

Officers arrested the woman, Briana Lane, 19, of 229 School Street, East Hartford on charges of failure to carry narcotics in original container, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.

Lane was later released on a $2,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Jan. 14.
