South Windsor Police Arrests Include Burglary, DUI Charges
Recent arrests by the South Windsor Police Department.

The following information has been provided by the South Windsor Police Department and does not indicate convictions:
Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol:
South Windsor Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Miller Road at Abbe Road shortly after midnight on Oct. 25. Officers believed that one of the operators was under the influence of alcohol. Following a series of roadside sobriety tests officers arrested the man, Joseph Keaveny, 25, of 150 Brook Street, South Windsor. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to obey stop sign and failure to drive in proper lane. Keaveny was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court later in the month.

Possession of Marijuana/Operating while Suspended:
A South Windsor Police officer stopped a vehicle on John Fitch Blvd for a violation at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 24. The officer learned the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. The operator was found to be in possession of marijuana. Officers arrested the operator, Brian Ortiz, 19, of 222 North Maple Street, Enfield. He was charged with operating without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ortiz was later released on a $2,500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 5.

Larceny in the Sixth degree:
On Wednesday, October 21, South Windsor Police responded to a Buckland Road retail store for a larceny complaint. Store security observed a woman remove items from the store then try to return them for store credit. Officers responded and arrested the woman, Eunice Mateo, 34, of 786 Capitol Ave, Hartford. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and was due in court Oct. 29.
Identity Theft/Larceny in the Sixth degree:
On Wednesday, October 21, South Windsor Police arrested Deborah Nevin, 64, of 21 Amato Drive, South Windsor, on an arrest warrant. She was charged with six counts of second-degree identity theft and six counts of sixth-degree larceny. She was released on $50,000 surety bond and was due in court Oct. 29.
Police said Nevin’s charges stem from a June 2015 complaint by a local resident that someone had stolen and used her debit cards. The investigating officer obtained video surveillance footage of a male using the stolen debit card and interviewed him. He implicated Nevin in the scheme to use the stolen card and arrest warrants were obtained for both parties.
Larceny in the Third degree/Burglary in the Third degree:
South Windsor Police arrested Angel Navarro, age 18, of 23 Magnolia St. Hartford, on an arrest warrant on Oct. 9. He was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.
Police said Navarro’s charges stem from a burglary into a motor vehicle that occurred on Newberry Road in early August. The suspect had stolen a Ford Explorer from the driveway which was later recovered in Hartford. Investigator’s linked evidence found in the vehicle to Navarro who admitted to the theft.
Illegal Use of a Credit Card/Larceny:
South Windsor Police arrested Erik Garzelloni, age 35, of 161 Tolland St. East Hartford, CT on an arrest warrant on Oct. 13. He was charged with illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and third-degree identity theft.
Police said Garzelloni’s charges stem from an August 2015 incident at a Buckland Road retail store where he is accused of using a stolen credit card to make purchases. Investigators were able to identify him from store surveillance footage and obtain an arrest warrant.
Failure to Appear in the Second degree:
South Windsor Police arrested Nadean Morin, age 26, of 82 Cemetery Road, Mansfield, on a re-arrest warrant on Oct. 8. She was charged with second-degree failure to appear.
Police said Morin’s charge stems from a missed court date for a January 2015 Breach of Peace charge.
Failure to Appear in the First degree:
South Windsor Police arrested Damian Hernandez, age 37, of 54 Moulton Ct., Willimantic, on a re-arrest warrant on Oct. 13. He was charged with first-degree failure to appear. Police said Hernandez’ charge stems from a missed court date for 2014 narcotics violation.
