South Windsor Police Arrests Include Theft of a Firearm, DUI Charges

Recent arrests by the South Windsor Police Department.

The following information has been provided by the South Windsor Police Department and does not indicate convictions:

Theft of a Firearm/Sixth-Degree Larceny:

James Connor, 24, of 235 Griffin Road, Suffield, was arrested March 28 on a warrant. Connor surrendered himself on the active warrant and was charged with theft of a firearm and sixth-degree larceny. Connor was held on a $250,000 surety bond and was presented later Monday morning at Manchester Superior Court.

Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol:

  • On Sunday, March 27, shortly after midnight, a South Windsor Police officer stopped a vehicle on John Fitch Blvd. for a violation. The officer suspected the operator was under the influence of alcohol. Following a series of roadside sobriety tests officers arrested the man, Eugene Trombley, 55, of 43 Rene Court, East Hartford. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to grant right of way. Trombley was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on April 4.
  • On Thursday, March 31, at about 1 a.m., a South Windsor Police officer interviewed a vehicle operator on Sullivan Avenue. The officer suspected the operator was under the influence of alcohol. Following a series of roadside sobriety tests officers arrested the man, Juan Cruz, 36, of 824 Wethersfield Ave. Hartford. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle while suspended and possession of cocaine. Cruz was later released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on April 14.

Breach of Peace:

Christopher Klein, 28, of 1402 Twin Circle Drive, South Windsor, was arrested March 31 on a charge of breach of peace. He was later released on a $2,500 surety bond. Klein was scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Friday, April 1. Klein was arrested due to an argument that took place at his home, according to police.

Second-Degree Failure to Appear:

  • George Lewis, 49, of 104 Walnut St, Manchester, was arrested March 25 on a re-arrest warrant. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear and was later released on a $250 cash bond. Lewis is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on April 7.
  • Roberto Cruz, 23, of 82 Mill Road, East Hartford, was arrested March 26 on a re-arrest warrant. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear and was later released on a $2,500 surety bond. Cruz is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on April 4.
