Dozens of vehicles have been burglarized across the area during the last several months, with thieves targeting unlocked cars and other easy targets.

"This is generally the activity we see when groups of youths travel town to town to do car burglaries," police said in a statement. "The youths will quickly try car doors searching for unlocked cars. Once they locate an unlocked car, they ransack it for any cash or valuable items. If the keys or key 'fob' are found in the car they typically, will take the car and use it until it either runs out of gas or is recovered.
