South Windsor Police Nab Fugitive from Justice

The man was arrested following a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.

SOUTH WINDSOR -- A traffic stop led to the arrest of a fugitive from justice early Wednesday morning in South Windsor.

A South Windsor police officer stopped a vehicle on John Fitch Boulevard for a violation at about 1:30 a.m.

The officer interviewed the operator and the passenger and a check of DMV files found that the passenger was wanted on an extraditable arrest warrant from Puerto Rico for narcotics violations, according to Deputy Chief Scott Custer.

Officers arrested the man, Nelson Boyrie-Perez, 44, of 100 Sylvan Avenue in Waterbury.

Boyrie-Perez was charged as a fugitive from arrest and was held without bond pending arraignment.

Boyrie-Perez was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday morning.
