South Windsor Police Remind Residents of School Zone Safety
New school year begins Wednesday (Aug. 27)

From the South Windsor Police Department:
The South Windsor Police Department Traffic Unit would like to remind everyone that the new school year begins on August 27th, 2014. With the increased number of children on or near South Windsor roadways, the Traffic Unit will have increased enforcement efforts in the town’s 8 school zones. Motorists are asked to slow down and be alert for children and school buses in the roadway. The fine for passing a standing school bus is $465 and the minimum fine for speeding in a school zone is $182. Please help us make this a safe school year.
South Windsor Police Department is a member of the Metro Traffic Services regional partnership for traffic safety. It is the mission of the Traffic Unit to increase safety and reduce motor vehicle crashes on South Windsor roadways through engineering, education, and enforcement.
