South Windsor Police Report Rash of Car Burglaries

Police are advising residents to lock their cars and remove valuables.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Police are investigating several overnight car burglaries that occurred in the Benedict Drive and Sunnyside Drive areas, Deputy Chief Scott Custer said.

The vehicles had been left unlocked, and at least one purse and other small items were taken, Custer said.

"We recommend people lock their vehicles every time they exit and take valuable items such as phones, laptops, wallets, purses, etc. with you. Also, leaving porch lights and driveway lamps on overnight deters thieves," Custer said.

Anyone with information or who witnesses suspicious activity should contact the South Windsor Police Department immediately at 860-644-2551.
