South Windsor Police Report Several Recent Arrests
South Windsor police said several people were arrested in recent days in separate cases.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police reported several recent arrests, including cases involving suspected drunken driving, road rage, domestic violence and larceny warrants, according to a Tuesday news release from Lt. Mark Cleverdon.
Police said Robert H. Litchfield, 66, of South Windsor, was arrested Thursday, June 11, after officers responded to the area of Route 5 and Chapel Road for a report of a wrong-way driver. The caller told police the vehicle was also driving onto curbs and sidewalks.
Officers found the vehicle after it struck another vehicle in a parking lot at 573 John Fitch Boulevard, police said. Litchfield failed field sobriety tests, was charged with driving under the influence and was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear June 29 in Manchester Superior Court.

On Friday, June 12, police arrested Michael Marte, 27, of New Britain, after a road rage incident. Police said Marte confronted the victim face to face, followed the victim toward home, then continued following the victim to the police department and blocked the victim’s car in the department’s parking lot.
Marte was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear July 1 in Manchester Superior Court.

On Sunday, June 14, police arrested Syed Z. Ali, 48, of South Windsor, after a domestic violence-related incident. Police said Ali struck a juvenile in the head several times and struck a woman on the hand, put his arm around her throat and threw an object at her.
Ali was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and appeared Monday in Manchester Superior Court, police said.
Police also arrested Sharntae Spence, 20, of Hartford, on Monday, June 15, on an active warrant. Police said the charge stems from a January larceny at Lululemon, 98 Evergreen Way, where Spence and another person are accused of stealing $1,024 worth of merchandise.
Spence was taken into custody by Hartford police and later transferred to South Windsor police. She was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond. She is scheduled to appear July 1 in Manchester Superior Court.
Charges are allegations, not convictions.
