South Windsor Runners Capture Harry Geraghty Invitational Title

The Bobcat girls team won the varsity large school division, while the boys finished second.

VERNON, CT — South Windsor placed three girls in the top eight finishers to secure victory at the fifth annual Harry Geraghty Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Rockville High School.

The Bobcats compiled 31 points in the varsity large school division to defeat runnerup Manchester, which had 44.

Junior Isabelle Erikson placed second overall, sophomore Lindsey Hurd was fourth and sophomore Marlena Klein was eighth to pace South Windsor. Sophomore Samantha Donovan was 20th.

On the boys' side, the Bobcats wound up second to champion Guilford in the large school team event.

Sophomore Jack McCluskey was the lone Bobcat boy in the top 10 overall, finishing eighth. Asfar Jamil (14th), Carter Cobb (18th) and Benjamin Armstrong (19th) also placed in the top 20.

The late Harry Geraghty coached high school cross country for nearly 40 years, including many at Rockville. He passed away in 2011.
