South Windsor Succeeds in First Trip to Boys Volleyball Finals
The Bobcats swept Joel Barlow in three straight games to capture the Class M championship.

WATERBURY, CT - In 1973, Peter Maneggia coached Reed Construction to the ASA state championship, with the clinching game played at John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury.
Forty-three years later, his son, Peter Jr., returned to the same campus and won his first state title, leading South Windsor to a 3-0 sweep of Joel Barlow in the Class M boys volleyball finals.
Game scores were 25-20, 25-22 and 25-18.

"After we beat Southington, we had a feeling we could win it all," the junior Maneggia said. "As a coach, it was easy - these guys will play anywhere."
Brandon Baker led the Bobcat attack with 12 kills, 11 digs and three aces. Scott Stonoha had 28 assists, 11 digs and three kills.

Corey Levin led Joel Barlow with 15 kills and 12 digs. Austin Houser had 30 assists, and Ryan Corr had six kills.
South Windsor prevailed in its first trip to the finals. Barlow was runnerup for the second straight year, having fallen to Newington in the 2015 championship match.
