South Windsor Travel Basketball Team Goes to New York

Sixth, seventh and eighth graders attend a Nets/Hawks basketball game.

The South Windsor boys basketball travel program (6th, 7th and 8th grades) took its annual trip to New York City Friday.

The South Windsor cagers normally play a team from Far Rockaway, according to Rich Mabey. Unfortunately, the teams were unable to meet this year because "Hurricane Sandy destroyed much of [Far Rockaway's] community," Mabey wrote.

The South Windsor players raised money and supplies for the Far Rockaway community, and the Far Rockaway team will come to South Windsor in February to play a game.
