South Windsor Welcomes Jack Longo, Jill Biancucci Kolinsky into Athletic Hall of Fame
Highlighting this year's induction class: Part III.
Editor’s Note: The South Windsor High School Athletic Hall of Fame inducted its third class with its annual dinner ceremony. We will highlight each inductee with profiles (but will break them into parts). The inductees are Jack Longo, Jill Biancucci Kolinsky, Priscilla Collins Snow, Brett Burnham, Cristi Carbone Burnham, Karen Rossi, Dorothy Blozie Morrill, Deborah Dillon-Lightfoot (posthumously) and the State Champion Boys’ Soccer Team of 1979.

Jack Longo is a 1969 graduate of South Windsor High School and member of the Varsity Baseball and Soccer Teams. Received All-Conference Honors in Baseball 1968 and 1969. Graduated from Southern Connecticut State College with a Degree in Health and Physical Education and Central Connecticut State College with a Master’s Degree in Counseling.
Taught Physical Education for 21 years and Biology for 14 years. Served as Athletic Director for 13 years. Coached Varsity and Junior Varsity Soccer for 22 years and Junior Varsity and Freshman Baseball for four years.

The 1997 Varsity Soccer Team won the school’s first ever Boy’s CCC Championship. Received the Sportsmanship Award in Coaching from the Soccer Officials Association in 2007. Received a Service Award from the Central Connecticut Basketball Officials Organization in 2003-2004. Presented an Excellence in Teaching Award in Biology from The University of Connecticut in 1993.
Started the Unified Sports Program at South Windsor High School with fellow teacher Maggie Mortensen in 1985. The Unified Soccer and Volleyball Teams won Championships within a two year period. Retired from teaching in 2010 and coaching in 1997.

Jill Biancucci Kolinsky
Jill Biancucci Kolinsky is a 1972 graduate of South Windsor High School and member of the Varsity Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball teams for four years. She started every game in the three sports all four years.
Received the Hugh Greer Award as the “Outstanding Senior Girl Athlete” and selected by classmates as “Most Sociable” and “Most Athletic”. Received The Daughters of the American Revolution Award Junior year.
As a freshman, she participated in the Girl’s State Track and Field Finals at Southern Connecticut College where she placed second in the javelin.
Graduated from Westbrook College in Portland, Maine where she played Basketball and Tennis. She was selected to lead her class in the graduation procession. After college played on two fast pitch Softball teams, a Women’s Basketball league with post college players and was selected to swim in the qualifying rounds for the 1976 Olympics.
Lifeguard at Veteran’s Memorial Park in High School and College. Has coached girl’s travel teams in Softball and Basketball, officiated/umpired youth athletic programs and Women’s slow-pitch Softball. Currently employed at the South Windsor Board of Education in the Payroll Department.
Previously employed in the Traveler’s Accounting Department. CCD Kindergarten Teacher at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. Involved with the awarding of two scholarships in memory of her late husband Bohdan “Bo” Kolinsky, the long-time Hartford Courant Sports Writer.
