South Windsor Woman Sentenced for Murder

The woman was charged with killing her ex-boyfriend in 2012.

Alanna Carey, 39, of South Windsor, was sentenced to 50 years in prison Thursday for killing her ex-boyfriend at the Carrier Motor Lodge in Newington in 2012, according to Fox 61.

Fox reports Carey’s defense argued that the murder of Edward Landry, 44, was done in self-defense.

Landry was found shot to death with a knife in his hand at the motel on Jan. 2, 2012.

Carey had admitted in court that she moved the knife twice before police arrived on the scene, according to Fox.
