Stolen Car Intercepted in South Windsor

Three were arrested after being nabbed by a SWPD burglary patrol.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor Police intercepted a stolen car early Wednesday morning.

At about 2 on Wednesday morning, a South Windsor Police officer was on patrol in the Gilbert Lane area, checking residential areas due to recent car burglaries, police said.

The officers found three pedestrians walking in the area without coats, despite the 36-degree temperature, police said. While being questioned, the three changed their story as to where they were headed or what they were doing, police said. '

A responding back-up officer found a stolen 2012 Nissan Maxima from Willimantic parked nearby and one member of the group had the the keys to the stolen car.

Enfield Police said they had been following the the stolen car because they suspected that one of the three, 18-year-old Nicholas Desorno, of 11 Windsor Court, Enfield, was involved. He is wanted on several outstanding warrants, Enfield police said.

They had to give up the search because of traffic and visibility concerns the previous evening.

After South Windsor police tracked down the group, Desorbo was arrested with two others — Teresa Ramos, 18, of 11 Windsor Court, Enfield; and Jon Roberts, 18, of 915 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, police said.

All three were charged with second-degree larceny (possession of a stolen car) and were held on $30,000 surety bonds. They were to appear in court later on Wednesday, police said.
