Temple Beth Hillel Celebrates Sukkot

Temple Beth Hillel of South Windsor is celebrating Sukkot with the entire community
including a bus load of residents from The Arbors at Hop Brook on Sunday
October 16 at 5:00 pm. Sukkot is a major Jewish festival held in the autumn to
commemorate the sheltering of the Israelites in the wilderness. They
celebrate by decorating a sukkah and spending eight days in it, or at least
sharing a meal in it. A sukkah is a hut built to provide shade. That's why it must sit beneath the open sky. The walls can be made of any material. The roof, must be of unprocessed materials which have grown from the ground like bamboo poles, thin wooden slats,or large leaves. Temple Beth Hillel holds a Sukkot celebration in their sukkah and all share a light meal followed by services held under the stars in the sukkah. Join the Temple Beth Hillel family on Sunday October 16 at 5:00 pm for a Sukkot celebration. Temple Beth Hillel is a social driven Reform Synagogue located at 20 Baker Lane South Windsor.
