Town: Sewer Line to be Repaired on Chapel Road Starting Monday
Westbound side of Chapel Road will be closed for the duration of the project that starts on Monday, Aug. 6.

The following is a press release from the town of South Windsor:
Beginning Monday, Aug. 6, Chapel Road will be compromised between Clark Street and Rugby Lane for repair of the sewer line that failed recently.
The westbound side will be closed for the duration of the project and a detour posted through Rugby Lane. Two large temporary pumps surrounded by jersey barricades will be on site, positioned in the westbound lane just west of the intersection, and monitored as they will run 24/7.

Eastbound will be closed during working hours but open at night. Emergency access to any of the homes in the area will be from either end. Manchester had been made aware of the situation and to date has voiced no objections. Preliminary work may start at the end of this week.
Flaggers and/or the appropriate police officers may be used at some points in the construction and repaving phases. The contractor will call as needed. Questions from residents should be directed to the Public Works Department at the Town Hall at 860-644-2511.
