Unregistered Contractor Failed to Finish Job: South Windsor Police

Police have charged a Windsor man with agreeing to do home repairs without registration.

South Windsor Police arrested a Windsor man on a warrant for allegedly agreeing to do a home improvement job he wasn’t registered to do.

Police arrested Anthony Jones, 51, of 58 Long Hill Road, on Oct. 26 and charged him making home improvements without registration.

Police said Jones’ charge stems from an August 2015 complaint by a resident that she’d paid for home repairs in May 2015 that were never finished.

The investigating officer learned the contractor (Jones) was not registered to do such work in Connecticut and later obtained an arrest warrant for him. Jones turned himself in on the arrest warrant on Monday evening.

Jones was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 5.
