Walden Names Haines Prevention Education Specialist
Will Manage School-Based Eating Disorder Prevention Program

The Walden Center for Education and Research and Walden Behavioral Care of Waltham, Mass., today announced that Stephanie Haines of Peterborough, N.H., has joined Walden Center as a Prevention Education Specialist.
She will be responsible for programs aimed at preventing and raising awareness of eating disorders, including Walden Center’s School-Based Eating Disorder Prevention Program, which provides educational programs to schools and other organizations throughout New England.
Before joining Walden, she was a Senior Health Educator and Prevention Specialist at FCD Educational Services in Newton, where she provided education to students in 50 countries about the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse. Earlier in her career, Haines was a licensed occupational therapist in the Newport, N.H., school district.

She earned her master’s degree from Plymouth (N.H.) State University, where she has served as a graduate assistant to Margaret Burckes-Miller, founder and director of the university’s Eating Disorders Institute. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Granite State College in Concord, N.H., and an associate’s degree from New Hampshire Technical College in Concord.
