Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk In Crash Turns Herself In

The charge follows a long-running investigation into a motor vehicle accident in the Buckland Hills area.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A woman has been arrested in connection with a crash that happened more than seven years ago near The Shops at Buckland Hills.

Cari Jo Hitchcock, 52, of East Hartford, was taken into custody Tuesday on an active warrant stemming from a November 2018 motor vehicle accident in the area of 769 John Fitch Blvd., according to South Windsor police.

Police said the investigation determined Hitchcock was operating under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. An arrest warrant was later sought and approved.

Authorities said Hitchcock was located in Enfield and turned herself in to the South Windsor Police Department on Feb. 24. She was processed and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.

Hitchcock is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on March 16 at 9 a.m.
