Woman Had Heroin in Car: South Windsor Police

The woman was arrested following a motor vehicle stop.

South Windsor Police arrested an East Hartford woman for allegedly having heroin in her car on Sunday.

Police stopped a vehicle at about 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 on Route 5 for a violation.

The officer learned that the both the vehicle registration and the operator’s license were suspended. Police said that the operator was also found to be in possession of five small bags of heroin.

Officers arrested the woman, Virginia Rehnberg, 61, of 84 Ellington Road, East Hartford. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended and operating a motor vehicle while license is under suspension.

Rehnberg was later released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 29.
