Wood Library In South Windsor To Re-Open To The Public Saturday
An open house of the Wood Memorial Library and Museum, as well as Nowashe Village, is slated for Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — After months of official closure brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, the Wood Memorial Library building at 783 Main Street will re-open to the public for book lending, research and general visitation this weekend on a hybrid schedule.
The library and museum will be open beginning Saturday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Oct. 30, with the exception of Oct. 9, when it will be closed due to the Hartford Marathon. Hours will be Saturdays, 1-3 p.m., and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In accordance with local guidelines, masks will be required for all regardless of vaccination status.

Nowashe Village continues to be open for its regular hours of 1-3 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 13. It is also closed on Oct. 9.
In celebration of the re-opening, an open house of both Wood Memorial Library and Nowashe Village will take place Saturday, Sept. 11 from noon to 3 p.m. Various special events will take place both indoors and out, and all are free for everyone:

- Author event, co-sponsored by Book Club on the Go, with New York Times Bestselling author Kimberly McCreight, 1-2 p.m.
- A behind-the-scenes look at the Friends' Archives with Archivist and Research Librarian Leith Johnson
- Special demonstrations inside Nowashe Village with Miciah Stasi of the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribal Nation.
