Wrong-Way Driver Corraled In South Windsor

Police were able to corral a wrong-way driver in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police were able to corral a wrong-way driver in South Windsor as part of a pursuit that originated in Hartford, a report says.

On Thursday, Shameka Wilson, 39, of East Hartford, was charged with driving under the influence, and reckless driving, according to a report.

Wilson was traveling at a high rate of speed in the "opposite travel lane" on Ellington Road, a report indicates.

Hartford police had alerted area departments that they had tried to stop Wilson for
speeding and operating erratically in the city.

After being stopped in South Windsor, Wilson failed sobriety tests, police said.

Wilson scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 18, police said.
