2-Car Crash In Willington Claims Life Of Massachusetts Man

WILLINGTON, CT — A 55-year-old Massachusetts man was killed early Tuesday in a two-car crash in Willington, state police said.

The crash took place at 4:30 a.m., according to state police.

According to a crash report, a 2008 Cadillac CTS being driven by Clifton Graves of Monson, MA, was headed south on River Road near Plains Road and a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with an 18-year-old Stafford man behind the wheel was headed north.

The Equinox crossed over the double yellow center line and struck the Cadillac head-on, according to a crash report.

State police said Graves was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The teen was taken to St Francis Hospital and Medical Center with what a crash report indicates were minor injuries.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon and state police were asking that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Troop C at 860-896-3200 or email Mark.Dennis@ct.gov.
