WILLINGTON, CT — State police stopped three drivers from three different states on Interstate 84 in Willington over the past five days for traveling well beyond 100 mph, arrest reports show.

At 2:18 a.m. Monday, troopers observed a vehicle traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" on I-84 eastbound heading out of Willington, according to an arrest report.

The car, with a 22-year-old woman from Alston, MA, behind the wheel, was clocked at 108 mph, according to an arrest report.

The car was pulled over, and the woman was charged with reckless driving, according to an arrest report.

On Saturday at 4:36 a.m., a trooper was conducting an "aggressive driving enforcement" detail near Exit 71 when he observed a black Jeep with New York plates hit 104 mph on his laser unit on the westbound side of the highway, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 51-year-old from Jamaica, NY, said he had no idea he was going that fast but was nevertheless charged with reckless driving, according to an arrest report.

At 10:39 p.m. last Thursday, a 25-year-old driver from Windsor was observed traveling at 118 mph on the eastbound side of I-84 while weaving in and out of traffic without using signals, according to an arrest report.

He had darkened windows, state police said.

He was pulled over near the Exit 69 off-ramp and charged with reckless driving, having an illegal tint, and a turn signal violation.
