WILLINGTON, CT — A driver escaped serious injury after a car flipped and landed back on its wheels in Willington, state police said.

The crash took place at 6:51 a.m. on June 14, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2023 Toyota Camry with a 20-year-old Colchester man behind the wheel was headed north on Ruby Road and veered off the pavement. The car hit an embankment and a mailbox and overturned "one full rotation" before landing back on its wheels, according to a crash report.

The driver was taken to Windham Hospital with minor injuries, according to a crash report. He was given a verbal warning for a lane violation.
