Distracted Driver Takes Out Mailboxes In Willington

Three mailboxes were wrecked by a car in Willington, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A distracted driver bashed into several mailboxes on Old Farms Road in Willington last week, state police said.

The incident took place at 11:15 a.m. on May 7, state police said.

According to a state police crash report, a 2007 Honda Accord was heading south on Old Farms Road when it suddenly veered off the road and knocked over three mailboxes.

The homes affected were Nos. 32, 34 and 36 Old Farms Road, according to a crash report.

The driver, a 61-year-old Willington man, was issued an infraction for failing to maintain his lane and a verbal warning for distracted driving.
