WILLINGTON, CT — A crash on Interstate 84 in Willington left a tractor-trailer with minor damage and the driver of a car passed out after exiting the highway and parking, state police said.

The crash took place Thursday at 4:12 p.m., according to a state police crash report released this week.

The report says that a silver Volkswagen Jetta being driven by a 21-year-old Tolland woman collided with the truck on the eastbound side of the highway and then left the intestate at Exit 70.

A 911 caller who had witnessed the crash said the VW then pulled into the Dollar General parking lot at 22 Tolland Turnpike, according to the crash report.

The driver appeared to be passed out and subsequently failed a sobriety test, according to the report. She was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, records show.
