HARTFORD – State Sen. Jeff Gordon (R-35th District) Tuesday was chosen as a deputy leader of the Senate Republican Caucus by Senate Republican Leader Stephen Harding.

As a Deputy Leader of the 12-member caucus, Gordon will also continue his leadership as the ranking member of the legislature's Veterans and Military Affairs Committee and as a member of the Appropriations, Public Health, and Public Safety and Security Committees.

"Thank you to Senate Republican Leader Harding for his trust in me as a deputy leader, to continue to offer real, commonsense solutions for the people of Connecticut. Families continue to financially struggle and are rightfully concerned for their safety," Gordon said. "People want to have their health care accessible, timely, and affordable. I look forward to remaining a leading voice in our caucus on these issues, as well as the many concerns of towns in our rural part of Connecticut."
