'Life Coach' Accused Of Diverting Stafford Disabled Client's Rent
A caregiver to a disabled Stafford Housing Authority client is accused to funneling funds to himself.

STAFFORD, CT — A caregiver for a disabled Stafford Housing Authority client has been charged with larceny in connection with a sate police investigation into rent money being funneled toward personal use.
Aaron Hramiak, 49, of Windham, surrendered to authorities on March 25. He is due in court on April 12. The official charge is second-degree larceny - embezzling from a disabled person.
The case materialized when state police were alerted by housing authority officials to a resident not paying rent. State police were advised that the 47-year-old client suffers from a traumatic brain injury, is confined to a wheelchair and is assisted with day-to-day affairs — including bill-paying— by a "life coach," identified as Hramiak, according to a warrant.

Housing Authority officials hinted that fund could have been "misappropriated" and a source of the money was Allied Community Resources.
At first, Hramaik said he did not know why the client was months behind on his rent, and the client was able to acknowledge "smaller" loans to Hramiak, according to a warrant. The client said he did not loan the $3,000 claimed by Hramiak, according to a warrant.

Bank statements outlined in a warrant show that from March to November 2021, on the same day as direct deposits to the client's account registered, withdrawals of more than $700, but slightly less than the total deposit also registered. In all, it happened 10 times for a total of $5,920 according to a warrant.
According to a warrant, Hramiak was authorized to use the client's debit card.
