UNION, CT — What state police termed a "cart" fell off a pickup truck and hit a tractor-trailer on the northernmost stretch of Interstate 84 last week.

The crash took place at 12:34 Wednesday afternoon, state police said. Both a tractor-trailer and a Dodge Ram 15oo pickup were heading east on I-84 between exits 73 and 74 in Union, state police said.

An unsecured meal cart then flew out of the Dodge in the center lane and hit the larger truck, which was in the right-hand lane, state police said.
