Motorcycle Rider Killed Sunday In Stafford Crash

A motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike in a crash that proved to be fatal in Stafford.

STAFFORD, CT — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday when his bike collided with a pickup truck in Stafford, state police said.

The crash took place at 11:52 a.m., according to state police.

A 2007 Yamaha XV190 street bike being ridden by a 52-year-old Shrewsbury, MA, man was heading east on Route 190 in Stafford near the Rockwell Road intersection, according to a crash report. The man lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from the bike into the eastbound lane, where be was run over by a 2020 Toyota Tacoma pickup being driven by a 32-year-old Stafford woman, a crash report indicates.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a crash report, which did not say whether he was wearing a helmet.
