Sleeping Trucker Awakened By Hit-And Run At Willington Truck Stop
A truck driver left the scene after slamming into another truck at a Willington rest area, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A driver who was sleeping in the rear of his cab was jolted awake by a hit -and-run crash at a truck stop in Willington, state police said.
The crash took place at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, state police said.
According to an accident report, the trucker was asleep in the cab at the TA truck stop on Ruby road. He suddenly "felt the entire truck shake excessively," according to an accident report.

He exited the truck and then noticed a a white tractor-trailer, possibly with a refrigeration unit, leave the lot, according to an accident report.
The truck that was hit sustained "significant damage," according to an accident report.
