STAFFORD, CT — A 72-year-old Massachusetts man was charged last week for a September road rage crash in Stafford.

The man was served a warrant in the case on June 17, state police said.

According to the warrant, at 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 2, a vehicle was traveling on East Street in Stafford and came upon another car that was swerving at a slow speed.

The trailing driver, who cited safety in a statement to police, passed the slower vehicle, but when cutting back to the right, the slow moving car sped up and rammed it from behind. The driver tried to speed away, but was again rammed from behind, according to the warrant.

The driver who was rammed managed to get the aggressor's plate number before he sped away and the car was traced to a Wales, MA, man, who was charged with evading responsibility and following too closely, state police said.
