STAFFORD, CT — A 31-year-old Windham woman has been charged with negligent cruelty to persons in connection with a March drug overdose involving an infant, state police said.

Brieann Boll was served a warrant in the case last week, state police said. She is also charged with interfering with police, the use of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a child, according to a warrant. She posted a $50,000 bond and is due back in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 7, judicial system records show.

The 1-year-old boy was first sent to Johnson Memorial Hospital and then revived with Narcan while being airlifted to Connecticut Children's Medical Center, according to a warrant.

The incident took place on March 9 at a location on Main Street in Stafford, according to a warrant. Boll, who told state police she has a steady heroin habit, injected "two bags into a finger" after putting the child to sleep in the father of the boy's absence, according to a warrant.

In the process, some of the drug spilled onto that finger, according to a warrant.

The child began "fussing," so Boll picked him up, forgetting she had wiped the excess heroin on her shirt, according to a warrant. The child then put his mouth on the shirt while being held and ingested the drug, according to a warrant.

In a drug test as part of the boy's recovery, traces of cocaine and fentanyl were found, hence the need for Narcan, according to a warrant.
