2 Men Injured In Separate Shootings Monday: Stamford Police
Police said the shootings could be related. They occurred hours apart on the city's West Side on Monday.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department said it is investigating two shootings that occurred on the city's West Side on March 14.
"These are both active investigations and there are preliminary but unconfirmed indications that these incidents could be related," police said.
Around 3 p.m. Monday, officers responded to 911 calls on a report of a person who was shot at the intersection of Richmond Hill Avenue and Anne St., police said in a news release Tuesday. Officers found "an extensive crime scene," which included 16 shell casings in the roadway, three homes and two cars struck by gunfire.

The victim, a 72-year-old city resident, was wounded in the shoulder while he was working on a parked car, police said. The man was transported by a private vehicle to Stamford Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
"The investigation has determined that the victim was not an intended target of this shooting. Preliminary information is that the shooting occurred between two vehicles as they passed through the intersection," police said in a news release.

The second shooting occurred around around 7:45 p.m. Investigators at the first scene heard gunshots and located a 26-year-old victim nearby, who was shot in the face but still conscious, police said.
Police said the victim was shot on Rose Park Avenue near the intersection of West Main Street, and ran away from the area where he was then found by responding officers.
Officers rendered immediate aid to the victim before he was taken to the hospital by Stamford Emergency Medical Services. Police said the man is currently in stable condition.
