STAMFORD, CT — Two pedestrians — a man and a woman from Norwalk — were hit by a Cadillac Escalade in Stamford on Wednesday morning and taken to the hospital with injuries, according to police.

A-22 year-old driver and resident of Pound Ridge, N.Y., stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. The driver was issued an infraction ticket for operating a motor vehicle without a license, and failure to use due care to avoid striking a pedestrian.
The on-scene investigation determined that the pedestrians were not in the middle of the crosswalk, but were in the immediate vicinity of it, and the driver should have yielded the right of way.
