4th Arrest Made In Armed Home Invasion, Stamford Police Announce
Police said four suspects were involved in an armed home invasion that occurred in Stamford last September.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department on Thursday announced the arrest of a fourth person in connection with an armed home invasion from September 2025.
Kenneth Stewart, 25, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested at Rikers Island on April 22 and brought to Stamford Police Headquarters, where he was charged with risk of injury to a minor, criminal attempt at unlawful restraint, first-degree burglary and home invasion.
Stamford detectives were actively working with numerous agencies to locate Stewart at the time of his arrest, but he was ultimately located by the New York City Police Department on April 6 after he was accused of bus fare evasion, Capt. Thomas Scanlon of the SPD said in an announcement.

Stewart was detained pending extradition to Connecticut.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Sept. 29, 2025, in the teen block of Greenwood Hill Street in Stamford, according to Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin.

A victim was walking to his home on Greenwood Hill Street at approximately 11:06 p.m. when he saw a male standing on the sidewalk and three other reported males in a vehicle near his house, Conklin said.
The victim was subsequently chased by four suspects into his home, and the suspects gained entry through a bedroom window, Conklin said, noting two suspects appeared to be armed with knives.
The victim fought with the suspects inside the home, and believed he stabbed one of the suspects with a kitchen knife before fleeing through a bedroom window and hiding at a neighbor's house, Conklin said.
Following the scuffle, the suspects fled the area, Conklin noted, adding that there was a small amount of blood left at the scene, and two knives used in the incident were recovered.
Investigators eventually identified the suspects and obtained arrest warrants.
Mackell Scotland, 20, of Stamford, was arrested on Oct. 13, and Patrick Gonzalez, who was 23 at the time, a Stamford resident, was arrested on Oct. 5, Scanlon said.
The two men were charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, risk of injury, and criminal attempt at unlawful restraint.
Deborah Garcia, who was also 23 at the time of the incident, was arrested on Oct. 1. She was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery.
"The department would like to thank the NYPD and our federal partners for their efforts in this case and Detective Kerilyn Whitehead for her persistence in the pursuit of all offenders," Scanlon said.
Stewart was given a court-set bond of $1 million.
