Air Quality Alert Issued; Temps to Exceed 90 Degrees
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued an alert Sunday due to the quality of the air.

If you’re going to be outside for long stretches today please take the necessary precautions as temperatures will hit or exceed 90 degrees this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued an “Air Quality Alert” from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday for southern Fairfield, southern New Haven, southern Middlesex and southern New Haven counties.
“AN AIR QUALITY ACTION DAY MEANS THAT OZONE WITHIN THE REGION MAY APPROACH OR EXCEED UNHEALTHY STANDARDS. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...PLEASE VISIT THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION WEB SITE AT HTTP://WWW.CT.GOV/DEEP/AQI,” the alert states.

Beginning on Tuesday the temps back down to the mid 80s for the rest of the week but there is a chance for some thunderstorms on Tuesday as well.
As of right now stormy weather is also possible beginning late Thursday through Saturday.
