Women's Business Development Council Celebrates Opening Of New HQ In Stamford After 2025 Fire (patch.com) — Stamford residents are seeing a major comeback as the Women's Business Development Council opens its new headquarters on Summer Street, 18 months after a devastating downtown fire. Local and state leaders joined women entrepreneurs to celebrate the expanded 5,000-square-foot space, which restores a permanent hub in Stamford for advising, education, and funding support for women-owned small businesses across Connecticut.
   

2. Eversource To Conduct Night Work In Stamford: Details (patch.com) — Stamford drivers and nearby residents should prepare for nighttime construction on Vine Road as Eversource upgrades underground cables from Sept. 8 to Sept. 22. Work will run weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., bringing noise and possible traffic impacts, so the city is urging extra caution and attention to posted signs in the work zone.
   

3. Italian Restaurant Quartiere Closes In Stamford (patch.com) — Stamford diners are seeing big changes as Italian restaurant Quartiere closes its Bank Street location after five years, while its team launches KIN Social in Harbor Point. The 51 Bank St. space is expected to be filled soon by Peruvian spot Fiesta On Main, following other recent restaurant shifts in the Harbor Point neighborhood.
   

4. Library Assistant Honored By Stamford Police For Saving Coworker's Life (patch.com) — A Stamford library assistant is being hailed after performing CPR and using a defibrillator to save a coworker who collapsed at the Harry Bennett Branch, before city firefighters, EMS, and police took over. The coworker recovered at Stamford Hospital, and the Stamford Police Department honored the assistant with the Commissioner's Award for his quick, decisive actions and care for patrons' privacy.
   

5. Over 1,500 Illegal THC Products Seized From Stamford Vape Shop, Employee Arrested: Police (patch.com) — Stamford police recently seized more than 1,500 illegal THC products from Vapor Box Plus on Washington Boulevard and arrested a 20-year-old employee on multiple drug charges. Officers say they're working with city officials, legislators, and state agencies to tighten local rules on smoke and vape shops, and they're asking Stamford residents to report businesses suspected of selling illegal THC products.
