Bannerot was trying to tie off to his mooring in the harbor and fell overboard, DEEP said.

First responders recovered Bannerot from the water and performed lifesaving efforts en route to a local area hospital, but he was pronounced dead, DEEP said.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
