Don't think 'career path'. Think 'life path'. A new workshop helps moms find answers.

Dr. Laurel Schwartz, a clinical psychologist who has worked with many mothers reentering the workforce, as well as those conflicted at the prospect of doing so, is holding a morning workshop, "What if I Go Back to Work?  What if I Don't Go Back to Work?  Answers for Today's Moms".

Mothers wondering what life will be like after going back to work -- or wrestling with the question of whether to take the step at all -- have much to consider.  Will the rewards justify the burden?  How will working affect my children?  If I go back to work, what will people think?  What will they think if I don't?

At the workshop, stay-at-home-mothers who returned to work will speak about what they've gone through -- the difficulties and the rewards.  Dr. Schwartz has set out to create a setting that empowers women to choose the path that makes the most sense for them, and to do so with confidence.  "In a group setting such as this, moms have the opportunity to see how normal and reasonable their own concerns and questions are which often leads to clarity and a greater sense of peace as one faces these important life decisions," she says.

The workshop will be held at 666 Glenbrook Road, May 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Schwartz has been a featured sepaker on helping mothers return to the workplace, and has published articles on mothers transitioning into new roles and has served on the Health Advisory Board of Big Apple Parent Magazine, and as a member and frequent speaker at the 92nd Street Y Parenting Center in New York.  A working mom, Dr. Schwartz is in private practice in Stamford and Manhattan, where she specializes in life transitions such as marriage, parenthood divorce, returning to the workplace and aging.
