Award-Winning Actress and Producer Shines in Westport Community Theatre's Production of Nine, the Musical
Stamford's Donna Wyant Brings Her Mastery to the WCT Stage
The Westport Community Theatre is proud to have long-time Stamford resident Donna Wyant as both producer and cast member in the current production of Nine, the musical. A critically acclaimed director, Wyant has an extensive career as an actress in theatre and film, and is also an Emmy and CLIO award-winning writer and producer.
Early in her career, Wyant was a student of the legendary Uta Hagen at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City before performing on stage in many off-Broadway and European productions. Her European roles included HAIR the musical, where she shared the stage with Donna Summer and Maxine Nightingale. Wyant has also enjoyed a recurring role in the television soap opera, Another Life and recently directed Porphyra, a Greek Rock Opera that debuted at Carnegie Hall. Her awards include New York Film Festival gold silver and bronze medals and her songwriting has earned her a Grammy Certificate, as well as numerous other industry awards.
Nine, which won a Tony Award in 1982 for best musical, delighted theatregoers in a hit revival starring Antonio Banderas in 2003, winning another Tony for best revival of a musical. Based on the Federico Fellini film, 8 1/2, Nine is the story of celebrated film director Guido Contini as he attempts to come up with the plot for his next film; all the while being pursued by countless beautiful women vying for his affection. Wyant plays Liliane LaFleur, the flamboyant producer of Contini’s film.
