Bicyclist Hit By Car, Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries: Stamford PD
The collision occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m., Friday, according to the Stamford Police Department.
STAMFORD, CT — A 59-year-old Stamford man who was riding a bicycle was struck by a car and seriously injured Friday afternoon, according to police.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m., in the area of Southfield Avenue and Top Gallant Road, Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police Department said.
A 2011 Toyota Avalon driven by a 92-year-old Stamford resident was traveling south on Southfield Avenue when it hit the bicycle in the middle of an intersection, Booth said. The bicycle was heading east on Top Gallant Road.

The man on the bicycle was knocked to the ground and suffered life-threatening injuries, Booth said, adding that he was taken to Stamford Hospital where he is currently in critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to Booth.
